What is a CV?

Definition:

CV stands for curriculum vitae, a written overview of a person’s experience and other qualifications for a job opportunity. It is very similar to resume. It is the first item that encounters regarding the job seeker and is typically used to screen applicants, often followed by an interview. CVs may also be requested for applicants to postsecondary programs, scholarships, grants and bursaries.

Is CV and Resume the same word?

No. These two are differ in length, layout and purpose. Resume is usually under 2 pages just to briefly talk about why you fit in a certain position. A CV can go beyond 2 pages talking about all the experience one may have and with more detailed information.
