What is Faculty?

Definition:

Faculty is the group of people, in this case, of teachers with a common duty or obligation which is the aim of teaching in an institution. Each teacher has a specialty and teach different subjects in order to transfer their knowledge to other students. In other words, the faculty is the teaching staff of an educational facility.

 

Is Faculty the same as Staff?

No. While faculty is the set of all the educational staff, on the other hand, staff is the group of people who work in an institution with administrative functions. Those who work in maintenance, security, etc. are also part of the staff. The personnel of a university, are generally employees with diverse antecedents and educational responsibilities, being the highest level the administrators, in charge to manage the system.
